Overcoming anxiety and depression

scroll

Many women married to Aspies suffer from chronic illness and/or mental stress.

Anxiety and depression do not have to keep us from enjoying our world! Let's fight the good fight TOGETHER!

If you are struggling today, you are not alone. Remember to take care of yourself.

You are amazing!!

Thoughts run wild in my mind.  As I dare to dream, dare to hope, dare to believe, my world comes crashing in again like never ending waves upon some lost forsaken shore.  There is loss within my soul.  It hurts, the pain runs deep within me as if it were flowing through my veins, coursing swift, pumping again and again, never ending.  Where does this pain come from?  What is this loss that stifles me and causes me to run and hide away?  Have I lead such a life of remorse and guilt?

No.  I am a child of the living God.  I have a purpose and a plan for my life.  I am a mother and wife.  I am a woman.  I am valuable.  I am beautiful.  I am me. I was shown love as a child, I have not fallen into the depths of drugs or alcohol.  Wonderful gifted people, family and friends surround me.  And my children…my babies my wonderful family…I love them more than life itself.  So why does my soul cry out for more?

I LOVE THIS BOOK!

Possessing Joy by Steve Backlund is a wonderful study that I reread regularly. It makes a great small group study and a wonderful daily devotional. Combating depression is serious business and there are times when we need to pull out every weapon in our arsenal. This is one of mine.

Even if you do not struggle with anxiety and depression, this book will help your joy grow!

Bethel's description of Possessing Joy -

In His presence is fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11). Joy is to increase as we go deeper in our relationship with God. Religious tradition, however, has devalued the role that gladness and laughter have for personal victory and kingdom advancement. His presence may not always produce joy; but if we never or rarely have fullness of joy, we must reevaluate our concept of God. This book Possessing Joy will take you on a journey toward the headwaters of the full joy that Jesus often spoke of. Whether you use Possessing Joy as an eight-week personal devotional, or as a group Bible study; get ready for your joy to increase and to ignite strength and longevity in Christ.
